CLIMATE CHANGE

The physical imparts of climate change on vulnerable and developing countries like Ghana is witnessed through rising temperatures, poor rainfall totals, rising sea levels and extreme weather conditions. In Ghana, changing rainfall patterns heavily impact the 33% of the population employed in the agricultural sector.
Ghana has adopted a National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy intended to ensure a consistent, comprehensive and a targeted approach to increasing climate change resilience and decrease vulnerability of the populace.

GASTRAN in line with the national strategy seek to educate local communities, schools and households to increase resilience and adapt environmentally friendly measures to minimise the impacts of climate change.
Through ecological education, GASTRAN envisages to achieve its long term goal of impacting sustainable lifestyles that cares for the environment. GASTRAN proactively seeks to incorporate environmental care awareness and sensitization into every aspect of life and create numerous opportunities to provide better and more inclusive livelihood. Our environmental care sensitization is evidence in two leading areas: tree planting and practical renewable energy sources.
