COMMUNITY HEALTH AND HYGIENE
GASTRAN has since its inception contributed significantly to educating underserved communities, schools and homes to access potable and clean drinking water, sanitation and hygienic amenities for children and households exposed to water borne disease such as Guinea Worm infection. GASTRAN’s initiative is based on schools, households and community positive hygiene behavior change aimed at encouraging use of safe drinking water, regular community cleaning exercises, proper waste disposal, and regular handwashing with soap. This initiative is meant to reduce the risk of water borne diseases, improved sanitation, and healthier learning environment for school children.
